Frequently asked questions
What is Combat Words?
Combat Words is a free multiplayer Wordle game you play in your browser. Instead of one shared puzzle, every player secretly picks a word and tries to crack everyone else's.
How is Combat Words different from Wordle?
In Wordle you solve one word alone. In Combat Words you play against other people: each guess is scored against all of your opponents' words at once, and the first player to crack every word wins.
How many people can play at once?
Up to 10 players can share a game. The host chooses the table size, the word length from 4 to 8 letters, and how many guesses each player gets.
Is Combat Words free?
Yes. Free accounts are seated into open games automatically. Plus members can also host their own games, public or private.
Can I play against the computer?
Yes. Games can include computer players at easy, medium or hard difficulty, so you can play even when nobody else is online.
Can I play privately with friends?
Yes. Private games are not listed in the lobby. Friends join with the game code, or a host can invite specific players by name.
How long does a game last?
A game starts within 10 minutes of being created and lasts at most 10 minutes once it begins.
